Students in teams of nine spend their junior year examining their role in the community, reading the motivational words of teens across the country who have executed successful service initiatives, and reflecting in journals about the difference they can make in New York. Over the course of the year, they visit multiple community service sites in the city to complete one-time projects and determine the type of service to which they feel most connected. They fulfill volunteer hours as seniors in an organization that matches their interest.
