SLJ offers numerous student enrichment programs and activities including:
A diverse program of extracurricular activities aimed at helping students develop special talents and continue learning beyond the last bell.
A unique ninth grade experience that partners every advisory with an outside organization to identify a compelling theme and create a powerful project around it.
A biweekly discussion seminar during which fifteen selected students share lunch with a lawyer and ask questions in a casual and intimate setting.
Rewarding one-on-one relationships as mentees to Brooklyn Law School students and U.S. District Court law clerks or as mentors to younger students from P.S. 287.
Exciting pre-professional experiences in highly professional office settings either over the summer or during senior year.
A full-scale exploration of college that partners every tenth grade advisory with a different campus to show students what they are working toward through one compelling example.
A grassroots campaign to revive teen volunteerism by sending eleventh grade advisories out into the community to perform acts of community service and bring the lessons they learn back to school.
Scheduled opportunities to bring the school into the outside world and the outside world into the school, and thereby empower students through constant involvement.
"My friend goes to a different small law high school but she doesn't get the opportunities that I get."
