This past Saturday, CBS welcomed five SLJ students into their studio for the kick-off of this year's Eye on the Future program. Created by ASF junior board member and former CBS producer Jonathan Schienberg, Eye on the Future allows a group of students to learn the ins and outs of television news, and gives them hands-on experience producing their own news stories.
Fourteen volunteers from "CBS Evening News," "60 Minutes," and "CBS This Morning" worked with the students this weekend to begin the process and brainstorm ideas for their pieces. The students were also briefed by Al Ortiz, the Executive Director of Standards and Practices about the ethics of news reporting.
Stay tuned to see the results of the students' work in a couple of months!
